Dementia Arts Trust has been privileged to collaborate with many organisations and groups on diverse projects and events throughout our growth.
Voluntary Action South Ayrshire (VASA)
VASA provided invaluable support in the initial stages of our community outreach. They were integral in us delivering our first community based classes, within our own studios.
Alzheimer’s Scotland
Our collaboration with Alzheimer's Scotland Volunteers extends to delivering "Art in a Suitcase" classes for community groups and carers. We've further partnered with them to create videos for their online resource centre, expanding access to arts-based activities for people living with dementia.
Care Homes
Our connections with care homes and community groups across Ayrshire are thriving. We're actively engaged in bringing our enriching art programmes to individuals in these settings, witnessing firsthand the positive impact on their wellbeing and creativity. We're continually building new relationships and expanding our reach to serve even more communities.
NHS CST groups
We partner with local Cognitive Stimulation Groups, delivering regular classes to their social groups. These sessions provide opportunities for creative expression and social connection, supporting cognitive wellbeing.
Ayrshire College
Our commitment to education includes past presentations, such as our Dementia Art class presentation to Level 6 Health & Social Care students.
"As part of our therapeutic activity group based in Crosshouse Hospital we were delighted to collaborate with Art in a Suitcase. Their programme was varied, thoughtfully planned and our hospital clients engaged well with the activity. The art practitioners clearly had a lot of experience of working with people with dementia, they were very kind and encouraging. The afternoons flew by with a lot of fun and laughter".
